I've never seen my dogs so addicted to food. I have a 3 year old Doberman (Co) and a 1 year old Frenchie (Bo). They usually start eating their food because I put it in front of the water and then they take a sip when I pour the water and move on to eat. Do not drink water with this food mix. You focus 100% on that food until the bowl is empty. They're not fat at all, but Kou is a little limp for a Dobe. Both have decreased noticeably within 5 days (including the transition period). I tried just giving Bo his old food without while Ko got the mix, but he looked back and forth between Ko and me like he was completely offended and wouldn't touch his food until I added a handful of that food. The food really doesn't smell like dog food. At least not as much as most. It smells faintly of grits and faintly of unleavened chicken. The chicken is freeze-dried in small brownish pieces, but the smell reminds me of that. I'm not sure I can justify the cost in the long run but my dogs love this food and it seems really good for their health.
