Review on Occupational Health & Safety Products: Adjustable Splints for Tendonitis Relief by Ananta Crowley

Fast results! But be careful with skin irritations.

I have had pain in my hands and numbness in my fingertips for several months and after an OT exam I was told I have carpal tunnels in both wrists and the specialist recommended braces when sleeping to wear. This way my wrists spend 6-8 hours a night in the correct/neutral position which will reduce the pain in my workdays spent at the keyboard. Obviously, these are structured bracelets, so they don't have to be the most comfortable (especially since they need to be worn snugly to be effective). The first few nights I wore them left red, itchy, welt-like marks on my arm and forearm. Although the markings matched the shape of the brace, I wasn't sure if it was because of the seams or a reaction between the material and my sensitive skin. I ended up developing a pair of tube socks "inserts" to wear on my arm as a barrier between the skin and the bandage. I've been wearing braces (and pads) every night since then and have noticed a HUGE difference in my arm pain and numbness. Skin irritation has disappeared and I have seen an improvement in carpal tunnel symptoms of over 50% after one week of use.

Pros
  • Wrist Brace: The metal wrist brace has a lightweight aluminum support and three adjustable straps. Breathable and soft carpal tunnel sleep wraps offer the ultimate in comfortable arm support!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
