UPDATE August 2020: Installed three color cartridges last month. All inks work great, no clogs and good print results. The ink levels are shown correctly, there is "?" just to indicate that it is not a Brother OEM cartridge. FIRST CHECK: I had to install one of the new black "Miss Deer" cartridges today. I'm happy to report that the level gauge appears to be compatible; the printer works great. Advice. The Brother LED screen will prompt you to shake the cartridge horizontally several times. "Don't remove the sealing tape until you shake it." Luckily I didn't make a mess, but the ink did get on my fingers.
