I just bought this kit for my new system. I have other bk/m combos for my other computers. My old one was bought in 2008. The only thing I had to replace was the mouse due to wear and tear from years of use. Even after 14 years of daily use, the letters on the keys are still in great condition, a bit shiny but not warning like many keyboards I've had in the past. Batteries last at least two years without being switched off. The mouse battery lasts about a year depending on usage. When I buy the next keyboard and mouse combo, it will be the same.
