Our cats love it on Cats

We received this tree to replace a tree that had broken parts and was very rusty. What a nice update. This is the gray color that we prefer over the beige that we see on most models. We looked at scratching posts at a local pet supply chain and they were very expensive for their size. This one isn't *quite* as durable as these, but it's half the price, so we think it's worth it. Upon unpacking, we found that one of the platforms had a crack. It's carpeted rather than having a structural pillar, so it's really not a problem. The poles are thinner than our previous tree, but they seem strong enough. Also, this tree is very tall. Our chunky turtle loves to curl up on the top platform, but it's a bit small for him. The tower has 2 hammocks. A round one hanging on the side and another square one hanging under the 1st shelf. Both are too small for an adult cat to lie in. Even our 9 lb gray kitten is too big for her. We also felt that the small tunnel installed on the top shelf was too small for one of the cats, so we just removed it. They also prefer that they have a good resting platform. The small hut is a good size for an adult cat and is already in use. We keep the tower next to my partner's computer. Cats tend to use more furniture that is close to their father. The small size keeps it from getting in the way too much. All in all a good tower for the price, although it does have a few odd design options.
