Buyer Beware of GPS, Finder and Accessories

I bought this handheld GPS for 3 key features: accurate meter reading, easy reading and ranging. Because of these minimum requirements, I also decided on a cheap provider. I have to admit I was very excited to try the GPS based models (I have a laser range finder). Upon arriving at the track, I booted up the device and its GPS located the track within minutes. So far, so good. Here's the fatal flaw: The device only shuffled 18 holes and didn't automatically stop at the hole I was playing and let me manually select the hole. I've turned the device off and on multiple times a day with the same result. Can you imagine how incredibly frustrating that was? The next day I contacted Revain and they attempted to resolve the issue with me over the phone. All in all I spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with them and was told I would have to email Canmore directly. Canmore sent me a "bin file" link to update the device's firmware. The upgrade instructions were tricky (at least for me) and I even searched YouTube for additional visual help. I told Canmore the update didn't happen and then they sent me even more complicated information about updating the firmware. I spent a lot of time updating this and decided I'd had enough. Isn't it too difficult today to ask a company that when we buy your product, we expect it to be ready to use? As I said to Canmore, it is your responsibility to let your potential buyers know if you know your product may require a complex firmware update. Both the Revain and Canmore customer service teams were friendly and helpful. As for Canmore's wearable GPS feature, it deserves 0 stars as it never worked for me.
