I don't know if it's really a sapphire but I can't tell the difference between the original and the replacement. I just replaced the lens cap on the wide angle camera (the left one in the photos) and it looks identical to the two originals even when viewed from an angle. The camera now works perfectly - both photos were taken with the camera with a modified lens (blurred by ambient light and cropping). The hardest part was removing the cracked lens cap, then all that was left was to carefully clean the hole and put it in the new glass. Do not touch the inside of the glass with your finger! The included tweezers and scalpel are very cheap but will suffice in a pinch.
