Useful for many tasks besides smoothing out wrinkles in fabrics

When I got this I was hoping I could take it with me on a business trip because ironing my suits and clothes is tedious and also takes a lot of time and creates a hassle that I would like to eliminate. Unfortunately it's too big and heavy to pack up and carry across the country, but my wife and I thought it would be a great device to have at home. Not only have we used it to remove wrinkles from clothes, but we've also used it for a variety of steam cleaning tasks around the house. After using this steamer for everything we could think of, here's what we thought about it: - Bigger to hold than hose models, but much more maneuverable and also produces hot steam. - It had a long cord. , but we still needed an extension cord to hang items that weren't near an outlet. It would be nice if it had a battery instead of a cable. - The stainless steel front panel gets very hot so it can be used as an iron and/or steamer with or without an ironing board. There is no heating mode, so it can only be used for fabrics that use high temperature mode. - Fast heat up and we had a choice of constant steam or using the trigger for steam on demand. - The steam head got very hot. against our hands when we used it, which didn't bother me too much, but my wife ended up wearing a heat-resistant glove and measuring cup, which worked well. The instructions state that tap water can be used, but it is always better to use distilled water to prolong the life of the device. According to the instructions, the steamer should not be used near a wall or door as this could damage the finish, so I took two hangers over the door and fitted 40" x 1-1/4". A wooden dowel with a diameter between them that allowed about 6 inches of clearance from the wall and enough room to steam towels, blankets, sleeping bags, or just about anything we wanted to steam. This attitude worked very well. Because it can be used horizontally, we didn't have to remove the sheets from the bed to freshen them up, and it worked well for steam cleaning the kitchen cutting board. My wife and I both found this steamer to be faster and easier to use than the irons or steamers we've used so we love it.
