The wire colors didn't match perfectly but using the wiring diagram that accompanies this review (from another product offered by Revain) I was able to make an educated guess to a high degree instead of certainty. I doubt it will be long but my GTi was literally dead. No electrical response. It's on its trailer now and won't be back in the water until spring, but it starts and turns like it used to. The price is low enough to justify the risk. DESS programming is not required. My old DESS key works. (You do not use the white/grey (DESS) wire in the electrical box. There is no place to connect it to this unit. Just leave it hanging in the box.)
