Original Review: This mask was a game changer from the start. After dealing with the inconveniences of hot water compresses and microwaveable masks, I finally found this product that made symptom management much easier. Microwavable masks cool very quickly and are a major inconvenience as you have to spend time heating them in the microwave and lying down in 10 minute sessions. With this electric mask, you can put it on before bedtime and go to bed. It stays on for up to an hour. So it's good that it works in theory. So why the bad rating? Well unfortunately my mask stopped working after a few months and since I work in electronics I decided to fix it myself. What I found was an amazing amount of manufacturing defects. First, the molding of the USB connector, the DC power connector on the mask, and inside the mask's heating element caused a short at each of the 4 locations. Also the strain relief on the control box was completely useless and caused the wires to simply break at the solder joints on the board inside. This also happened in both places. The fact that it worked at all is amazing. If you translate all of this to a non-electronics engineer, then this product is made very cheaply, with little to no quality control, and there's a very good chance yours will stop working soon. and you will be forced to buy another one. I may have gotten the item from a bad batch, but to me it looks more like cheap production that usually doesn't change for things like this in China. I still recommend the electrically heated mask, but not this one. Update: After fixing the manufacturing defects found, I continued to use the mask for about two months before it broke again. This time it broke in the mask itself and I can't fix it. I've looked closely at other reviews and this seems to be very common. I am reducing my rating from 2 to 1 star. I also feel like there is cheating going on here as there is a new product page for the exact same product which obviously doesn't allow buyers to see previous reviews so I copied this review into both pages.
