This unit has a great sound and the bass is way better than I expected. I tried two other soundbars with "built-in subwoofers" in the sub-$100 range. The TopVision soundbar had acceptable sound but really lacked bass to support the idea that it had a built-in subwoofer. This device has never worked well with the HDMI (ARC) connection option, often not always responding to the TV remote and sometimes just dropping the connection. The second one I tried was Foxnovo. This device had better bass and clearer dialogue, but after a week it just stopped transmitting any signal, regardless of connection type. The bass was only slightly better than Topvision, so I tried this VMAI device. I chose this one because I clearly had two subwoofers. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was that it was considerably heavier than the other two. That speaks for the weight of the drivers. It was packaged well and set up very smoothly, connected quickly. I am very happy with the bass this unit provides, reaching deeper octaves than I thought 3 subwoofers could. It's also the lowest of the three devices I've tried, which turned out to be important. My system has a soundbar mounted on a counter directly in front of a 55-inch LG LCD TV. The Foxnovo and TopVision units were large enough to block the TV's infrared receiver, meaning I had to hold the remote up and at an odd angle to control the TV (and the soundbar via ARC). VMAI doesn't cause this problem, and controlling the volume on the TV seems just as easy as it was before the soundbar was added. The build quality is excellent and the packaging was secure. I'm very happy with this unit, the bass is excellent for any soundbar without an external subwoofer enclosure. It's a good choice for anyone looking to spend less than a hundred dollars on a soundbar.
