Now I understand what the other reviewers had in mind when describing this item as a large shawl. This is a silky, hot, very thin fabric that your grandmother's shawl is made of. It's not chiffon. sadness forever. I can't imagine wearing this around my waist at the beach or pool. Little old ladies carry it over their shoulders to church. But this one is super big. I have many other sarongs/pareos that are made from a more durable material with a better drape/body. (Also, the pattern is rich in color and looks beautiful.)
