The first shelf we put in our kids room, my husband hated it because it didn't have enough clearance to meet the cleats. After having this shelf for almost a year, we put our bed where we had to come up with something small for the nightstand (the man's bed side is right next to our closet door and I want to squeeze through the 8 inch closet slot for every day) It's actually turned out very cool because it's not deep like an ordinary bedside table. These shelves are elegant because all the hardware is hidden! We hung bigger shelves for wall storage in our room and kids room and they are very durable and beautiful.
