It closes recent apps and the back button on the Samsung Tab A 8 inch. My daughter has to either take it out of the case or fold the edge of the case back to use the buttons which is not easy even for my fingers. Angry to say the least because I was specifically looking for a case for the Samsung Tab A 8 inch. Keep checking if this is what you have , or get super frustrated like me.
