Review on ๐Ÿงญ Garmin nรผvi 42: Reliable 4.3-Inch Portable Vehicle GPS (US) (Discontinued) by Patrick Locke

lots of issues best in sports and portable gps

I bought this to replace my 6 year old TomTom XL that didn't have lifetime maps and I was tired of paying for maps . Well where do I start. Firstly I have a bad signal in my car, it took about 5 minutes to connect, my tom tom usually picks up a signal in less than a minute. bad menu, was difficult to navigate, few options. The colors of the map were terrible, all grey. The device turned off during a dive after being fully charged on the first use. He said I was going about 1.5 mph when I stopped. The speed on the device lagged about 5-10 hours per hour when accelerating or decelerating (when driving a minivan, not a sports car). The map had lag/buffering issues and kept zooming in and out to show back roads. He showed me the turn as I was going straight. He showed me how to turn when I'm not moving. He showed me how to turn right off the road when I was in the left lane. He pointed me to the street next to me, not where I was. I bought it thinking I was buying a newer and better GPS navigator which I think is way worse than my 6 year old TomTom. The TomTom has its own issues, like constantly updating or downloading new maps, but the shutdowns while driving and the map lagging are unacceptable in my opinion. Overall I would NOT recommend this GPS, it's back to Amazon.
