I volunteer with the Coast Guard and clean up the beaches, and I bought these gloves to pick up trash. They fit snugly but don't restrict movement too much and breathe well. The plastic palm pad is flexible yet allows you to easily grip objects while keeping your hands clean, dry and protected from any "bits" or potentially dangerous objects. I bought a second set to keep in my emergency kit.
