If you use them on a switch they should work fine. If you're using a dimmer, I'd consider another, probably more expensive, option. They turned heads when I dimmed them on a Lutron Caseta dimmer. They also don't dim very deeply. They are still quite bright on the lowest settings. Definitely brighter than my can of LED. Admittedly, that's more than double the price. That being said, if you need gimbal functionality and can't install a deeper reshaped light, I'm sure they'll work quite well, especially if you use an on/off switch. I had to do it again, I would order a very similar light from Reno Lighting that is sold by Vega Lighting. I have no idea if they work better, but they are very similar and have good reviews.
