good quality rubber and hole diameter is perfect, I slipped it on a regular left joystick without problems, the right joystick was the original rubber, partially gnawed by my dachshund. I tried putting it on a piece of chewed rubber in case it needed a bit more thickness but it didn't go in properly so I ripped off the remaining rubber leaving just a hard plastic thumb shaft and stuck a big one in that worked fine fits and hasn't moved or loosened and I play a lot with claws and wz so this is a solid product. All in all great for not only adding size to your cane but also covering a worn cane.
