I also have a Brown of the 1st series, a very primitive razor with one semicircular grid. So, I didn't notice much of a difference. Yes, and the old Panasonic shaves cleaner, even with "tired" knives. Now I regret a little that Panasonic did not reanimate. It was necessary to change the batteries and buy a cheap razor as a donor of knives and mesh (there is such a model with the same knives).
