My daughter wears 7/8 pants but she is tall and skinny. I usually take a size up to 10 in length and cinched in the waist. Her size 10 pants were skinny jeans. With a pair of gym pants underneath, she was too tight to be comfortable in a squat or in an athletic stance. Very cute and flattering profile, too small to be used as regular winter pants. Not thick enough to accommodate layers on a cold day. If you're looking for a late spring that doesn't need layering, just increase the size and you'll be fine.
