The USB fan is quiet at medium speeds and can be used to cool electronic devices such as routers and home theater equipment. The rubber bumpers on the fan are a plus as the fan can easily be placed over the device openings. The USB port path can be upgraded to provide full USB performance regardless of the first fan speed. Currently, the fan speed switch controls the voltage through the USB port. All daisy chain fans are expected to run at high speeds. Thus, the switch for the first fan controls the speed of all fans in the daisy chain. While this sounds good in theory, the other fans don't work well when the first fan switch is in the down position. Since each fan comes with its own speed switch anyway, this USB port should only transfer full power/data so any device can hang on this port and each fan can be configured to run at a different speed.
