NOT compatible with Vintage Singer 503a

UPDATE: I found a review that was not available when I ordered these bulbs which indicates that the problem with these bulbs is that they are for automotive use and not household appliances are and are mislabeled. I pulled mine out again and sure enough, it says right on the bulb that they were there for that. No wonder they exploded. I have requested and received a refund and as others have indicated it is a manufacturing issue I will not be ordering a replacement until this issue is resolved. I have installed them on a Singer 503a sewing machine and they have never failed. Both times I tried they immediately exploded. The original bulb (by original I mean it's a Singer brand bulb over 40 years old) still works but gets too warm up close on my hands and it's a very warm yellow light that sometimes messes up color definition brings because I can't distinguish the blue from the turquoise green. These particular lamps are recommended by other reviewers for various sewing machines that use the identical lamp, although I haven't seen my model specifically mentioned. So if you're reading this with curiosity about your classic car, I suggest you try something different. I have 3 of these machines that I am restoring so am very frustrated that these 4 packs are 4 complete failures. I can't stand the sound of LED bulbs when they burn out and it happened just inches from my face so I'm really not happy. I'll find something else. Contacts and pins fit perfectly, I had no fit issues. We compared them, even with a caliper, to see if there was a difference that wasn't visually obvious, but found none. I have no idea why they failed.
