VERY early review of Native Union data/charge cables - I feel like I paid more for the quality packaging!

Early Review of Native Union Data/Charging Cables. I will be returning to review in about a year or due to premature cable failure. Here is another one of my lengthy product comments/reviews. First, the main reason I chose this very expensive Native Union cable. I never, EVER use "cheap" cables with any of my electronic products, but I never buy high end, high quality cables. Lightning to USB cable from a very famous Apple-centric online electronics store. This is a good quality cable that I have been using for 2-3 years to charge my old iPads, iPod Touch and iPad Pro. .So, here's the backstory. I've been having problems with Apple power adapters/chargers for about 4 years now and they keep failing for about a year. Once a year I have to go to my local Apple Store or Apple reseller and give Apple another $20 for a new 12W power/charge adapter. Just a week ago another 12w adapter died. The Apple Store clerk at my local Apple Store has never seen me go to my local store for an unknown reason as I go there about every few weeks and have never seen a problem with my broken Apple power adapter. An Apple employee has speculated that it might be a problem with the charging cable and/or the choice of cable I'm using that's causing these adapters to fail on a regular basis. I thought about it and figured the Apple Store clerk might have a reasonable opinion on a possible reason for this. frankly, regular failures. That's why I opted for a more expensive cable. So I decided to try these Native Union cables. Okay, it's very difficult to preview and rate cables if you don't know how long they are. will last or work to failure. So, all I can do here for now is give my first opinion/impressions on these Native Union cables. The cable still feels premium compared to my previous braided cable. This cable annoys me the most because the cost of these Native Union cables is quite high and I feel like they could be a bit cheaper if the packaging for these cables wasn't so expensive. They're just data/charge cables, after all. Purchasing this cable makes me feel like I'm paying more for the 'super large' packaging than for the cable itself. Prices for these cables could be lower if packaging costs were reduced. .These cables come in a very large, thick, book-like packaging with a lid and main box, which has a small edge magnet that keeps the top lid of the packaging closed. The lid of the box actually snaps to these magnets built into the lid of the box. The package also features an integrated high quality merchandise shelf hook. While the packaging is a great example of how to package and sell/promote a product, being a product and packaging designer myself, this packaging is just high end overkill for this type of product and I honestly believe that it is one of the biggest expense items makes these Native Union cables sooooo expensive. I don't want to pay for packaging and marketing materials. I want to pay for a well made, quality cable and feel like I'm paying a premium to cover both the cost of the cable and the premium packaging! Full-style packaging design) that is shorter and one-third or one-half the width of current packaging to save money on packaging materials and potentially pass some of those savings back to the consumer. The package size for such a small, packaged cable is ridiculous, a bit ludicrous and rather unnecessary. I just feel like I paid more for the packaging than the cost of this cable. Hopefully this cable will keep my Apple power adapter/charger from failing prematurely every year!
