These straps have a metallic finish, obviously not 'real' metal but still look good. After about a week of 24/7 wearing, housework, sleeping, showering, etc., I don't see any wear on the finish. My only downside is that the size seems uncomfortable, I'm a medium height woman and my wrist was the largest small diameter or the smallest large diameter, I chose a large strap.
