Wine Stoppers Set of 8 Wine Stoppers with 2 Wine Aerators Reusable luminous silicone wine stoppers with airtight decanter to aerate the wine spout These stoppers are just what I was looking for. I tried to get creative and ordered some of these newfangled vacuum pump connectors; and I couldn't even get stupid things to work properly. Now I'm not a wine connoisseur; therefore, I do not claim to know the intricacies of "storing" wine. But I don't have to "hold it" for long either. My wine drinking habit is usually to visit the liquor store's "popular wines" section when the mood hits, and then have a bottle on the weekend. I wanted something simple and effective - without the frills of a cork substitute. The bonus is that it comes in beautiful colors. It appears to provide an airtight and hermetic seal; and honestly it works much better than the old one I've been using for ten years. The aerator also ensures tightness. I can't comment on what he does or doesn't do - again, I'm no wine expert. I know red wines should taste better when allowed to interact with oxygen; and the aerator allows you to do this faster than decanting. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to buy my wine from a department other than Popular Wines. Or maybe I just don't have particularly sensitive tastes and it's a good thing I don't spend $100 on a bottle of wine because the experience is lost on me. I can only say; I used an aerator. In the course of my research on why an aerator should be used; I was promised that "the hand of Bacchus himself will reach through the pomegranate darkness and personally present only the most desirable aromas and flavors to you." Yes, that *didn't* happen; and if it did, it wasn't for me at all. But back to business; Rating score: This is a great product, looks good, does the job, would recommend. This would make a great housewarming gift as moving into a first home is a staple every family should have.
