My cat is 14 pounds so she usually has smaller scratching posts as the larger ones are less stable. But we just got kittens and I figured he needed a big perch to claim his alpha status with. Even at his size, he likes the small apartment (and the big one) and both perches. I loved the steering wheel, but it was in the middle of a post that was best scraped off the ground, so I took it off for him. I contacted the seller when I was assembling this on Friday night and they responded within half an hour. . So quick and friendly. It came with instructions and wasn't that difficult to assemble. In comparison, I bought a smaller scratching post (different brand) for kittens, which is not as stable. I thought about returning it. It's probably fine now as long as they're insulated and only weigh 4 pounds. But I'm glad I have this one that easily supports all three at once. Worth every penny!
