Thermos flask with a wide neck in stainless steel design, not to be used as a conventional thermos flask but to be filled with warm water at room temperature for use after Requirement. In the 11 days I've owned it, no liquid other than water has come into contact with this thermos. I have not washed it with soap products and have not used wipes on or in it. I didn't even scrub with a sponge. I just rinsed it with hot water and refilled it every day. For my purpose I didn't even use the outer cap, just the inner cap which doesn't even touch the edge where the chipping occurs. The finish is said to be stainless steel, but it looks like a darker finish has been added on top. rust free, and there's the scrub. On the thermos itself you can see that the lid on the thermos itself is straight stainless steel without the darker finish. As for why they put a darker coating on the body of the thermos I have no idea. The manufacturer should leave it alone and leave color coatings. I will be returning this thermos.
