Of course I'm not a chef but I almost started a fire over this thing lol (slightly exaggerating). I couldn't tell if it had been done and I kept hearing grains popping. Then the smoke started. OMG it was bad. I can't remember why I didn't put it in the sink and doused it with water, but I threw it out the window and it continued smoking for 5-10 minutes. My apartment smelled of smoke for several days. If you want a popper then Wabash is the best proof of that. I've made loads of popcorn and everything is safe and healthy and delicious :)
