My motherboard doesn't have enough connectors for all the fans in my case so this was an easy way to power them from the SATA power connector. The cable is quite basic and works as advertised with no issues. The only thing to note is that since it's a network connection only, there's no way to throttle the fan speed. They run at maximum speed all the time, which can be noisy depending on specific fans, case layout, etc. They require a splitter that plugs into the motherboard fan header to control the speed, and even then they usually only throttle one fan (3-pin) and the rest just run at full blast (2-pin).
