After looking at the Orvis and Filson options and seeing the prices involved (I'm a curmudgeon, but I value quality - or as they say, I have a fondness for champagne on a beer budget), I decided to see what else might be available. I was skeptical that a $40 briefcase (what I use it for) would make any money. I've only been using it for a week, but first impressions are great! As one reviewer noted, it may not technically be "waxed" cotton (maybe it's more like Scotchguard), but it's a very nice, thick, canvas-like material, the leather is nice and thick, and the magnets seem theirs to do work well. keeps the cover in place. I don't know how people lost the magnets - they look VERY firmly attached. The size fits my 13 x 9 inch laptop (much bigger and you will be in trouble) and the overall look is consistent with the pictures. I look forward to taking it apart and taking it with me on business trips - it's so much better than my previous all-purpose black nylon bag.
