Having owned many different JBL speakers over the past 30 years, I was amazed that they had developed a "sound system" for motorcycles. What really let me down was the ridiculously low noise level they produced. Speaker output was fine when sitting still with the engine not running; However, once you start your bike, even with the stock exhaust, the sound output barely masks your engine sound. And as soon as you start driving down the street, the sound emitted becomes useless. The second problem is the attachment method. The thread on the speaker is pluggable and can be easily removed. And the speakers work in such a way that they lose after driving less than 100 miles. I had them on my bike for two rides and took them off as they were more of a nuisance than useful. Not being able to return them, I decided to install them on my pontoon boat. They worked fine, but after being dunked and splashed in water a few times, they stopped working. Note that I said spray without submerging in water or exposure to rain. I should have done more research before buying these unnecessary speakers. JBL which used to be a great brand is now made in Mexico and obviously their quality isn't what it used to be.
