I really like these filters, they catch a lot of dirt especially if you are a smoker like me. Cleaning the black filter with soap and water (use liquid soap and water and then let it dry over a tap) extends the life of the white filter by over a month. I just wish there was a way to replace the white paper accordion filter without having to recycle the blue plastic frame. This reduces the monthly recycling of plastic frames. I can always tell when it's time to change the filter because you can smell everything on soft surfaces.
