I've been wearing Vans for over 40 years, although I used to have to buy them in men's models. They fit exactly as expected with good arch support. If you'd rather put your own supports in, I doubt you'll need to go any bigger if you pull out the inside - they're pretty thick. I spray some waterproof stuff on them and they last forever.
