My L-shaped table has pre-punched cord/wire holes. This product fits perfectly into these holes, leaving room for cables. I originally installed it with my 24" monitor, but I found that the tension of the table, while quite strong, seemed best supported with a support bracket sold separately. Attached are before and after pictures of the support bracket so you can see the space and placement. Note that I used the support bracket differently - I put one flat board on the table and turned the other board upside down and it placed on the bottom Very sturdy and really distributes the weight and keeps the stand in a solid position Very happy with this product I bought 2 stands and 2 support brackets - to use in each of the pre-punched holes in my L shaped desk where my second monitor is lighter and 22", I bought the product without knowing if this mounting option is possible and was so happy that it worked for me. I hope this review and photos help other buyers.
