Review on 🔦 LitraStudio Modifier Kit: Elevate your Lighting Game with Versatile Accessories by Tim Camp

Received this as a gift from Revain (don't know why it doesn't show verified?) In general, this light modifier kit is a nice addition to Litra Studio. It contains everything you need to diffuse and shape the light. The kit is easy to attach to the lantern and looks quite reliable. It also comes in a nice care case. Everything is held together with simple snaps and they become strong when snapped together. The softbox parts are plastic, but the honeycomb and barn doors are metal, making them more durable. The main problem with this kit is that the honeycomb part acts as a spacer/attachment point between the softbox frame and the barn doors. . While you can mix and match different parts depending on what you need to do to control your light, it's like if you want to use barn doors at all, you should use honeycomb too. When the honeycomb is removed, the barn doors will not fit the softbox snugly. Light ends up leaking and barn doors can slide right off the softbox, making non-honeycomb barn doors difficult to use. You definitely can't mount the flashlight vertically without the honeycomb part unless you use tape to hold it in place. This seems to be an obvious issue that was simply ignored during development. It would probably be a bit of a chore, but the litra really needs to have another piece that can be replaced that doesn't have honeycomb, or redesigned to allow the honeycomb to pop out of its frame. If it weren't for the problem of the barn door sliding when the honeycomb is removed I would rate this product 5 stars and well worth it, however the design issue would be painful enough that it currently has 3 stars in my opinion. Edit: I wouldn't trust their website reviews (Litra) either, I suspect they don't condone negative/critical reviews, I posted the same review on their website almost at the same time as this one, and it never showed up. It's very bad when a company (which I like) asks for user reviews and then doesn't want to publish them because there are critical ones.
