Although our trip isn't for a few weeks and I can't comment on how well it works in the field, upon receipt I was very happy with the product. This backpack is lightweight and easy to carry when loaded. Can be opened like a suitcase and is therefore very easy to pack. It has strong handles so it can be carried like a backpack, on top or on the side like a suitcase. I checked all my gear before the trip and everything fits perfectly and I don't feel like I'm overloaded lifting or carrying. I'm 5ft 5" and my husband's backpacks are very heavy and bulky. I will update the review when I get back from vacation.
