Bought these and a few other compostable products at the same time all my local grocery stores had been closed for months. It's definitely the best quality I've ever used. The tip is nicely pointed and stays pretty hard even when wet. The flat, rounded end retains its shape/hardness even when wet. Some brands lose the "point" needed to bring out the detail when they get wet or the cotton seems to be unraveling or falling apart, but they don't have that problem. I use them for crafting and also in cosmetics - they are especially good for cleaning manicures (I used acetone when applying gel polish and I got color on my cuticles) and also for refining lines when using ' liquid lipsticks last almost forever' (the kind that doesn't usually budge unless you use oil or branded remover) - I dip the tip in the remover and can perfect every bit of lip color that's out of place where I need it, so it is. If you really need a cotton swab to keep its "precise" tip, especially if you're using water, oil, solvent, or other liquids on the cotton, I would recommend this one.
