This set of 5 French claw hair clips are the same size and well made with a strong spring in the clip. They definitely won't break easily. The tortoise shell print is available in brown, khaki, black and white, peachy pink and ivory. Any woman with long hair knows how difficult it is to survive without those bobby pins and I never get tired of them. I always lose or break them and they are stronger and bigger than most. My typical claw clips are slightly smaller with a rounded bottom where the claws meet. These clips are flat at the bottom and square in appearance. As a result, they grip the hair a little differently and make the hair look different when cut. They also look more elaborate in their hair, cutting their hair in a variety of inventive ways, whether pulled back or up. If you have longer and/or thicker hair, you'll appreciate the flat bottom that gives you more room to catch your hair. At first I didn't think I'd like the other design, but now I prefer them to round claws. The colors are pretty neutral and worth the money.
