Good for communication but not music

I use it next to me to communicate with a passenger. They work well for canceling noise and communicating with each other, but the speakers that play music are pretty bad. They lack volume and clarity is very poor because they are not stereo. So it's like light background music. You would think that they could improve the sound quality of their speakers. After all, this is 2021.
