Allows you to attach a light bar to your jeep, truck or other vehicle. In certain situations, you can mount it on the front bumper without having to drill holes. However, if you need to drill, the panel has several existing holes as guides. I got it to support and protect a lightweight ATV style winch I installed in front of my utility trailer. I pull felled trees onto a trailer with a 12 volt winch that pulls 3,500 pounds even though it's only 13 inches wide. I wanted to make the winch a wider mounting plate than the one that comes with it and use a pole for extra protection. This worked fine for me. It's strong enough for what appears to be aluminum and weighs just under a pound and a half.
