UPDATE: I've had this blanket for almost two years now and use it almost exclusively on my bed. I've washed it many, many times (I have cats) on the gentle cycle and never had a problem with pilling or tearing. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. I would still highly recommend this duvet. :) I love this blanket! I'm so glad I bought it even though the reviews made me doubt my choice. It was a bit stiff when it arrived so I washed it (gentle cycle). It came out of the dryer nice and soft and completely undamaged. My husband and I prefer to sleep somewhere cool, and this blanket is not too heavy and stuffy. It feels well made, not flimsy or cheap. As I said - I love this blanket!
