This cable works with the Sony PlayStation 4 controller and in my experience actually charges the controller's battery or close to what it's for Standard charging cable is capable. I got it because I prefer not to have to constantly charge my already very old PS4 controller due to its terrible battery life. Please note that this cable is really thick and has some weight and was actually a lot longer than I really needed. So: I looped it from the front of the PS4 to the back of the PS4 (looks really ugly, but hey). I then taped it to the back of my entertainment center in a few places to keep it in place and then pulled it out from under the HDTV to hide it as effectively as possible.
