I used them for a water cache in remote areas so they were exposed to the elements for most of the day. They didn't add any foreign flavors to the water and seem strong enough. I like the wide mouth opening as it's easier to wash and dry, but it does have some downsides. 1. If you lose the cap, you probably won't be able to find a replacement, while for narrow-mouth bottles you can use the "standard" cap found on disposable water bottles (like SmartWater); 2. Wide mouth bottle is difficult to pour and pour the contents into a narrow mouth bottle. You end up spilling a lot of water. The general build quality appears to be good. I haven't actually tested this, but my previous water bags (from another manufacturer) burst when I was lugging full water bags into the back of my truck.
