I usually wear size 16. Ordered in XL. I am 5'6, 200 lbs, apple-shape. These fit me perfectly. They sit right at my natural waist, no issues with the rise. They fit like a glove and even looked good!The lining is excellent and they were very comfortable for several hours. They did catch here and there down the inside while walking (and there was plenty of walking) but I was expecting that after reading the reviews and it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.I wore them to an Elton John concert, and I wasn't the only one! I saw 3 more pair in black and Apricot. In a stadium that seats so many, I am sure there were many more. I got several compliments and had fun wearing them!Also, length was perfect for birks which have about 1" rise. Heels are a big no for me in stadium seating, but they would look excellent with a platform! Sheerness I can not speak to. The lining was thick enough that I did not detect any sheerness, though the overlay is just mesh and sequins. Other colors may be different (I got "brown," but I think the same color sequins are on the "apricot." They just read differently over the black vs white background.)You might need these pants. Depends on what you are considering them for. 😉🙃
