Great little camera

I've had DSLRs for years and needed a P&S camera to take snaps. This camera was the perfect choice for me. It is so small that you can easily take it with you anywhere. The photos aren't as good as my DSLRs, of course, but they're still excellent. The thing is, I can take this camera with me and shoot anywhere and for any reason, while I can't and won't with professional equipment. There are a few features I particularly like including manual controls, widescreen mode, time. Time-lapse mode, macro mode and the remarkably useful digital zoom. The manual controls on the camera are enough to satisfy my setting needs, especially as I generally prefer the lowest possible ISO setting with the flash off. When I shoot widescreen, I can view the photos on my 16x9 widescreen TV and they look great. In fact, I almost always shoot in 16x9 widescreen because of this opportunity. Digital zoom has changed - you no longer get clunky images because the camera is zooming in on part of the sensor image. Due to the high number of megapixels, the enlarged part no longer appears pixelated, as with previous models. It's like a telephoto lens in a camera to capture images in those rare moments when you need them. The macro mode works so well that photos of flowers rival those of my DSLRs. The camera also has a great video mode, including a fun time-lapse feature. Previous Canon sensors on P&S cameras were used "at your own risk" when shooting above ISO 100. This camera's sensor has been greatly improved, delivering 'very good' photos at ISO 200, 'good' photos at ISO 400, and 'acceptable' photos at ISO 800. I still use noise reduction software to clean up my photos, but I I'm glad that Canon has also improved the sensor in the camera software. Add image stabilization to all of these features, which virtually eliminates shaky and blurry images, and Canon has another winner. I predict sales of this little gem will skyrocket.
