This is a nice convenience item if you have a performance oriented engine or even just want to keep an eye on oil pressure. If you always have a mechanical pressure gauge that is designed for continuous use, you do not have to undertake a pressure test. I haven't had any issues with it so far, but I've seen a few other cases where oil has gotten into the sensor or some other problem has arisen. I can only speak for myself and pushed the car away from time to time, otherwise it's my day-to-day job and I've been able to keep going without any problems. You REALLY want to use thread sealant as it can cause a small leak as well. The visual reading may vary slightly as I have seen it fluctuate within +/- 57psi.
