I have had several lav mics but this is by far the best in this price range. I put it to the ultimate test and it excelled when filming on a windy day by the sea. I made a video to make announcements to my students and make changes to keep them interested. I wanted to shoot the last video on a sunny but windy day with the Pacific Ocean (Rockaway Beach) breaking waves in the background. For this to work, you need to do the following: attach a windscreen, mount the microphone at chest height (approximately 9-10 inches from the mouth), and set the microphone to -10dB. I made a video with an iPhone 10. While gaming, I plugged my headset into the 3.5 headphone jack. The results are excellent. -10db worked great. Of course there was noticeable wind noise, but that's to be expected in gusts of 15 km/h, but luckily the wind noise is minimal. The voice recording is also very good, and you feel like you're standing next to a shoreline with the waves crashing behind you. For the lava itself: Advantages: adjustable 0 and -10 dB, clear and precise detection. Metal body, cables seem more durable than other mics in this category. This is the first battery powered mic I've used and the sound pickup and playback is excellent. Cons: There really aren't any. Other: The connected cable from the microphone to the plug is about 20 meters long, batteries (LR44) are used, the switches are small. I used extra Velcro to tie the extra wire. Not everyone will like a very long wire, but I can use it in classes and lectures. Also, it gives me a creative way to create videos from a greater distance closer to the camera. I also have a $600 wireless professional monitor that I use with a full frame HD camera. Comparing the sound of this Maono lav to my $600 wireless device, the sound quality is excellent for this price range. I don't have test equipment for all specs, but I'm just using my ears to determine what sounds good for my use case. This is a wonderful microphone that will not disappoint. An active microphone in this price range is excellent value for money. Thanks Maono
