I've had problems with foot, ankle and knee pain for the last 4 months but it went away when I got home and put on the Birkenstocks. I work in a casino and I'm on the floor all night. So I bought these two weeks ago, very expensive for a pair of shoes but at 64 there is no substitute for comfort. Long story short, after getting used to it last week, I'm pain free for the first time in months. You get what you pay for and to me it's worth it. Also, I was expecting ugly shoes, but they aren't. I'm 10.5, I went up to 45, glad I did.
