Current consumption only approx. 7 mA (0.007 A). Other voltmeters I've bought have drawn up to 30mA (0.030mA). A continuous draw of 30mA would take about two weeks to induce a non-triggering condition. A current drain of 7mA would take about eight weeks before a start-up condition occurred. I installed this voltmeter on my bike so I can monitor the voltage when it's parked and while I'm riding. Good to see in daylight. With a power consumption of only 7 mA, the battery will not run out of breath even after several weeks in the garage.
