We have marked them with a blue dot at number 5. I bought these for my 5 year old daughter who weighs about 40 pounds and is about 42 inches tall. She currently wears an A in most things. Size 5 is for 5 inches or so. higher and I think they would be too short at that height. If she were bigger, they wouldn't be enough. They fit her well and are exactly as pictured. Inside they are not thicker soft jogging pants, but French terry - a bit rough. She doesn't reach for them because they're not particularly comfortable. She will wear them, albeit a bit picky. So far, metal dots have survived multiple machine washes and dryers.
